sticking your beak into other people's conversations can be highly rewarding

I HAVE GOT A NEW FLAT!!!

: >

It looked so different to the photo's Cameron and I looked at. We half expected it to be boxy, boring and generally standard 'luxury' apartment but we were pleasantly surprised. The ceilings are incredibly high and the windows are massive. It's modern but doesn't feel dated in a modern chrome and laminate flooring kind of way. It's very open. It's going to look great when we've moved all our tat and fairy lights in, a real cool boys flat ;) And the party I've got planned which I initially envisioned at my family home will now take place there, and it's such a cool flat for a party. We're not going to turn it into a doss house (cam is quite sensible for an 18 year old) and we won't be having loads of parties or anything, we want it to be our own personal space away from Solihull but near enough to get to work. Snow Hill is right round the corner so it's pretty handy. We move in on the 4th of December, so I'll take some photos and put them on here when I get there!

As for the party... I'm a lot happier now I know it won't be at my parent's house. They're selling it and the last few weeks my dad has been fixing things and touching up areas of the house to perfection from a list he wrote known as the 'Snag List'. My dad is extremely methodical and precise and he would just know if I had a party there. Something would break or marks would be made on the brilliant white walls. Or someone would stain the carpet with red wine. I wouldn't be able to blame my cat on that, despite him constantly yakking all over the carpets. But the party at my flat is going to be perfect - I sort of imagine it to be a bit like Monica's New Year Party in '200 Cigarettes'. Except without passing out early. It's just a Christmas party, as it's on the 10th December, but there will be food and cocktails and the possibility of more cocktails.

Talking of parties, we recently had a Nordic Rave party at work, the theme basically being what you'd wear to a rave in Norway, to promote a soap called Northern Lights, which is neon yellow and red and smells of lime, cypress and pine needle oil. It's very uplifting! Just looking at it will make you come up! We raved all day and basically sold the shit out of everything. We will be having a perfume party in a couple of weeks too, to launch a whole new selection of 'exclusives'; perfumes that were originally only available online and from the past and so on.... my favourite is 1000 Kisses at the moment, but some of them are really gorgeous and contain pure essential oils and little alcohol. I'm not drawn to expensive designer perfumes any more because it seems like such a materialistic status thing. You may be wearing a 50 pound bottle of Chanel or whatever, but it only seems to me that people smell it and go 'mmmm thats nice, is it Chanel'? Or they ask you what it is and you reel off some designer name...so you and a million other people all smell the same. With the new fragrances at work and the ones I saw being made up in Libertys and generally everywhere else that does unique fragrances, you can find something and create something unique and exclusive to you. Cameron believes that 1000 Kisses is my signature scent, so I am going with that. It reminds me of him so it's nice to wear it, even though it's mine. Saying that though I like Comme des Garcons MAN and Unidentified Object and I like the traditonal musky fragrances from Kiehls, but even those can be layered and customised.

Anyway, I leave you with a photo of Cameron, after only ONE sip of Ovaltine! I got him onto it, because that's what I drink before bed, but it has a more than desired effect on him, and when I came back to my room he was asleep like this with his hand dangling into the mug. I drank the rest.
